I followed-up, "Did you ever use the word, 'rape,' in your line of questioning?" "Yes," she admitted again. I took a deep breath, and continued, "Did the board give an answer when you used that word?" "No," the mom said, "it would not answer." I continued, "Did you continue the same line of questioning using a different word?" "Yes," the mom said. "Did you get an answer, when not using the word 'rape?'" I finalized. "Yes, we started getting answers after changing the wording." "Don't ever do that again," I said on behalf of both Sarah and Sarah's maternal guardian energy, who was infuriated actually. With that I set up my first appointment to visit their family and begin mentoring Sarah. The whole point was to help her self-heal, because at present age, the phobia infringed on her real life in the real world as a budding social human being. Finally I knew why the shaman sent me. Even though he was her spiritual leader and qualified to help mentor as a licensed psychotherapist, specifically in matters of abuse and trauma, he was still a huge white male that Sarah could not tolerate. Upon my first visit, the mother, Sarah, a younger brother, and I all stood around in the kitchen talking, when the mom mentioned her impatience with an old house they had once lived in, which was up for sale, that hadn't sold yet. I leaned in on the kitchen counter, remote viewed the old home and found something there, which is when I offered, "There's an entity that makes the place feel inhospitable." I noticed everyone perked up and then left the kitchen as if they'd preplanned that I and the mom would also further discuss this one... alone, and we did. "That's why we moved here," the mom said. I started walking around the kitchen and mentally surveyed the land upon which their current home sat, which is where we were, and sensed that she had done some kind of ceremony that would make the house invisible to the entity they left behind in the old home up for sale, yet I mentioned, "I don't think the invisibility ceremony will work." Eventhough she looked up at me (in immediate shock), I didn't continue that discussion, mainly because of her belief, but instead left to interview Sarah in order to plan for present and future metaphysical themes we'd discuss. Sarah was highly intuitive, saw invisible energies and interacted regularly with them, so there was a lot of topics to draw upon and learn about. 12y Bryan-Carlton Flournoy With the weekends that followed, I visited the family, we had dinner, I sat and talked with Sarah about all kinds of things, never really touching on her phobia, as this wasn't my professional area of expertise, as pharmacologic therapeutics and patient counseling was, but then again, this was a spiritual issue, and so I offered conversation about her ideas on spirituality, and knew in some way this would help her transcend fears from a past life trauma. I am african-american and this was key. One evening following an inclination, I went to Block Buster Video and rented the Exorcist. At that time in my life I was reviewing a lot of spiritual ideas that I'd developed before taking a look into metaphysics during my mid-thirties, so I was interested in learning about which of my views had changed by observing my reaction to classic themes like demons, possession, and exorcism, especially being the son of an apostolic minister raised under a faith that gave equal emphasis to God and granted rival power to Satan. At a particular part of the movie that intrigued me most, when in the throes of the exorcism and when the girl once bound to the bed by both wrists and ankles breaks free and levitates, both priest profess defiantly, "The power of Christ compels you," and so did I began reciting with them, not to join forces with their fight against the dark side, but for feeling self-empowered that we're in the image of the all powerful and must consciously choose to live and manifest that way. But then something else occured to me, which is when I picked up the remote control, put the video on pause, and went into the kitchen, speaking aloud to noone there, but somewhere else, "You don't want to stay here in limbo on this plane. You'd be happier in the light. Go into the light. I won't force you. You choose." But he did not choose the light, so I gave up, went back to the couch and finished watching the film. I received a phone call the next day. It was Sarah's mom and she explained, "Last night I and my husband were watching TV, and heard someone open the front door, walk in, close the door, and go down the hall. We didn't get up to see who it was, thinking it was our teenage son, who we allow to stay out late with friends, even on weeknights, depending on school activities. The next morning we asked our son from where he had come home lastnight and he informed he was in bed asleep by 8pm and went nowhere the entire evening. That's when we knew, the spirit had come here to our home. We brought out the ouija board and asked if the spirit was here in our new home and the answer was, 'Yes.' Then we asked how did he find us, and the board spelled out your name: B - R- Y -A -N. So, I'm calling you to ask, what did you do to alert the spirit where to find us? Why did you contact or interact with him?" I said, "I did no such thing. My name was spelled out so that you'd call me and ask for more insight regarding this. That is all." The mom said, "But how did he find us?" I reminded, "I told you the energy work you did would not make your new home invisible to him. He chose to stay behind in that house, because all his memories are there." Suddenly I remembered what happened, when I paused the Exorcist video to go into the kitchen, which is when I explained to the mom what I had said, trying to compel him. She accused, "But you said you didn't interact, but obviously you did!" "Not in the way you think!" I exclaimed. "Now listen," I said, while remote viewing the old home again. "Did you get a call from the realtor that someone's interested in buying the home...just recently?" She was surprised that I asked but still answered quite solemnly, "Why, yes! But what does that have to do with this?" I explained, "The buyers don't believe in ghosts, so they leave no energy around through that belief, which he can use for poltergeist activity, animating their world, interweaving his experience and memories into theirs. He's been defeated. Further more, are they planning to make major renovations to the home?" "No, they are not...they said it's perfect as is!" "Well, that's not something you'll know about for a long time to come...not yet anyway. The modifications they're planning will change both the physical and metaphysical pattern of the home, energetically wiping the sleight clean of any memories lingering from before. People who don't believe in ghosts do it all the time, especially if there's no karmic connection between their present lives and what's happened in the past. The entity that lived there recognizes this and chose to come to your family where there's a belief and cognitive knowledge of his past. You opened a door with a ouija board session that you conducted there. That's enough for him to reconstruct memories of the past to reside in and obsess over with your active participation!" I paused for a moment, realizing I was only retelling the whole story so that it made sense in my own mind and then said, "GO TO YOUR SHAMAN!" One week later she called to tell of the experience she and her shaman co-created during an all night sweat, healing the entity that haunted them in the old house and followed them into the new house, finally sending him into the light. It was beautiful the way she explained how it all happened. I said to her, "Only you could do it. It had something to do with the love and courage of a mother. I didn't want to get involved with that part." I continued visiting her daughter, Sarah, for several more weeks as I had promised, and pray that all is well.
